Fauna

The waters of Gorgona are frequented by dolphins, porpoises, humpback whales and sea-wolves, all of which breed further south, in the Galápagos Islands.

There are 155 species of birds, 75 of them migratory. There are sparrowhawks, kestrel, hummingbirds, bluebirds and many more.

The blue lizard is a native of Gorgona. It is indeed a bluish-grey colour, and lives in tree-trunks deep in the forest.
